As the home of the Australian PGA Championship, resort golf in Australia doesn't get better than at Hyatt Regency Coolum.

Located on the Sunshine Coast this 72 par, 6263 metre course offers contrasting landscapes, from coastal holes adjoining the Pacific Ocean to manicured fairways that weave their way through native bushland.

Designed by renowned golf course architect Robert Trent Jones Jr, a round of golf at this superbly challenging course is complemented by an ideal sub-tropical climate.

The facility also includes a fully equipped Pro Shop, the Golf Education Centre, a 260m floodlit driving range and a chipping green with adjoining bunker.

The following events are included in the registration fee for delegates and accompanying persons.

THURSDAY 14 OCTOBER

Welcome Reception
Dress: Neat Casual
Additional tickets: $90.00

Enjoy the balmy outdoors at Coolum. The evening is a casual event held poolside at the resort. It is a stand up event, where you can mingle with fellow delegates and enjoy the sights, sounds and tastes on offer. For those who want to keep on networking after the Welcome Reception, a bar will be open for BAFA delegates!

FRIDAY 15 OCTOBER
4.15pm - 4.45pm (delegates only) Happy 'Hour' Drinks
Additional Tickets: No cost - open to all 4.45pm - 5.15pm (for delegates & partners)

Afternoon tea will be served with some drinks, to allow you to relax after a busy day of sessions. This will be held in the trade area, in the Pavilion. Partners are welcome to join delegates after 4.45pm.

SATURDAY 16 OCTOBER BAFA BALL
7.00pm - 11.30pm and then continue on until 2.00am
Dress: 'Creative' Black Tie
Additional Tickets: $130.00

The sessions have drawn to a close but the conference is not over until tonight, when we all have the opportunity to dress up, enjoy a fine meal and then dance the night away. Dinner will be served in the Pavilion with some light entertainment. Then we have a surprise in store for those who wish to dance the night away!
Creative black tie, leaves it up to your imagination, allowing you to add your own personal flair!

PARTNER TOURS

For those persons accompanying their partners but not attending the conference, we have organised some optional activities for you to consider.

Afternoon Tea

Time: 3.30pm - 4.00pm
For those wishing to meet up and plan some activities over the next few days, meet with other partners at Bruschetta's in the Village Square for a cup of coffee.

Spirit House Cooking School
Friday 15 October
Time 9.00am - 2.00pm
Cost: $150 per person (inc transport)

Yandina is located 20 minutes inland from Coolum and is the home of the Spirit House. The restaurant and cooking school are set in lush tropical gardens nestled around a tranquil pond, bubbling waterfalls, tinkling wind chimes and the sounds of nature. It is a delight for all senses that offers award-winning contemporary Asian food. Fire up your wok and sizzle a Dry Red Curry of Cuttlefish with Wild Ginger, Braised Pork with Sweet Soya & Cinnamon, Sweet & Sour Stir Fry chicken, Stir fried Beef with Roast Chilli Paste, stir fried Chinese Broccoli with Asian Mushrooms and Oyster Sauce.

Classes take 4.5 hours and include lunch and include wine or beer.

  • Shopping in Noosa
    Noosa is a short 20 minute drive from Coolum and features Hastings Street, which is renowned for its exclusive boutiques and galleries. A half day trip at least!
  • Australia Zoo
    Not too far is the internationally acclaimed Australia Zoo, with plenty to see and do.
  • Markets
    The region has a host of markets on offer over the days of the conference, with Eumundi Markets being held on Saturday morning - well worth a visit.
