Ron, a Certified Speaking Professional (CSP), is known globally as "The Corporate Ninja". "CSP" is the highest speaking designation in the world, with less than 7% of registered speakers attaining this level, most being in the USA. Ron is an inspirational humorist, keynote speaker and executive trainer. He studied at the National Institute of Dramatic Art and over the past 31 years has studied eight forms of martial arts. As well as having regularly lectured in communication at universities, Ron trains senior executives of the Top 100 companies on four continents in leadership and personal power. He is author of the book, "What Shintaro Taught Me", and has had roles in nine feature films including the legendary "Zombie Brigade". The Corporate Ninja helps you to empower yourself to become what you need to become so you can do what you need to do. Ron will MC the conference throughout, and will close the conference with a powerful message of 'How to get what you want with Less Effort'.
A consummate entertainer and all-rounder, Anthony Ackroyd has appeared in countless theatre productions, television programs and films and his remarkable talent also extends to radio, music and writing. A graduate from the University of Tasmania with a Bachelor of Arts majoring in English Literature, and specialising in drama, he has since appeared in many quality theatre productions including: 'A Smile, a Song, and a Lump of Wood'; 'Twelfth Night'; 'Offending the Audience' and 'Six Characters in Search of an Author.' His television credits include 'Hey Hey It's Saturday', 'Newsworld', 'The Late Night Show' and 'Tonight Live.' He has also appeared in various films including 'Kadaicha', 'Mad Bomber in Love', 'Reckless Kelly', 'Gino' and 'The Nathan Beetle Story'. Applauded worldwide for his hilarious live shows, he has performed in London, New York, San Diego, New Zealand and across Australia. Anthony is also a musician and songwriter with extensive live and recording experience. Not only does he sing, but Anthony also writes - and has written for the Comedy Company, The Age, Good Weekend and the Sydney Morning Herald. Steve Keen is Associate Professor of Economics & Finance at the University of Western Sydney, and author of the popular book Debunking Economics (Zed Books UK, 2007; www.debunkingeconomics.com). He has over 40 academic publications on topics as diverse as financial instability, the money creation process, mathematical flaws in the conventional model of supply and demand, flaws in Marxian economics, the application of physics to economics, Islamic finance, and the role of chaos and complexity theory in economics. In Debunking Economics, Steve let the general public in on a little-known secret: that many widely believed economic models have been shown by economists to be wrong - hence the subtitle to his book, "the naked emperor of the social sciences". This is emphatically the case with the so-called "Efficient Markets Hypothesis", which still dominates academic thinking about finance today - even after the Global Financial Crisis. Since 1995, Steve's main research focus has been the development an alternative, empirically grounded theory, known as the "Financial Instability Hypothesis", which argues that finance markets are inherently unstable. Steve's forthcoming book on this topic, Finance and Economic Breakdown, will be published by Edward Elgar (UK) in 2011. Steve predicted the Global Financial Crisis as long ago as December 2005, and since November 2006 has published Debtwatch, a monthly report which explains the dangers of excessive private debt. This report, which is freely available on his blog (http://www.debtdeflation.com/blogs) has received extensive coverage in the Australian media, and is reproduced by other noted commentators around the world, including Nouriel Roubini's RGE Monitor (http://www.rgemonitor.com/) and Alan Kohler's Business Spectator (http://www.businessspectator.com.au/). Steve's excellent communication skills were honed in his pre-academic career, which included stints as a school librarian, education officer for an NGO, conference organiser, computer programmer, journalist for the computer press, and economic commentator for ABC Radio National and Radio Australia.
